I'm Joao (JP) Carvalho and I founded Adeptus Acquisition with the goal of acquiring a single business. I am searching for a high quality operation, with strong roots, that is ready for a fresh look to the future. I aim to preserve the legacy you've built, while setting up the company for further growth and success. I am a fully independent individual investor. I'm not a PE firm and I'm not accepting any outside capital. My family and I plan to relocate locally to directly manage the business full time.
Established Operations
We aim to acquire a business with an established operational history. We look for:
Strong Culture
We will manage the businesses locally so we want to work with great people!
We won't make radical changes to facilities or employee counts, so we look for businesses where employees already enjoy working and building together. We know small businesses form tight knit teams and we aim to preserve that culture.
Attractive End Markets
High growth or critical end markets within Manufacturing and B2B Services. Including:
Adeptus Acquisition was founded and is independently owned by Joao "JP" Carvalho. For the past decade JP worked in equity research in New York City where he and his wife are currently based. For the past 5 years he worked at a fund where he invested in US public industrial companies as part of a broader equity portfolio managed by his team.
JP recently left that job and launched a full time self funded search as owning a business is something he's dreamed of since he was young. His goal is to make this the next phase of his career, with the intent of acquiring a business and operating it from the existing location for many years to come.
JP holds a deep respect for small business owners. He knows how many years of hard work goes into building a business and he wants to focus on maintaining the legacy of the current owners while setting up the business for future growth and success. Adeptus Acquisition is not a PE firm, JP is an independent investor with no outside capital. We seek to minimize disruption to the current business and its employees, and instead focus on a long term vision rather than a quick dollar.
